City Cleaning Operation Underway in P-au-P

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - The "Vil Pwòp" (Clean City) project of the Presidency of the Republic, with logistical support of the Haiti Recovery Group (HRG), conducted over the past weekend a clean-up of several arteries in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. Particularly on Delmas 33 and the route from the airport, the Saline and Route Nationale #1 Boulevard (Cité Soleil).
Twenty-eight bodies were deposited in these locations to facilitate the collection of the garbage. The operation will continue until July 25 and extend in the other cities of the country.
The organization called Mouvman Apiye Majority (MAM) and Yéle Haiti, took part actively in this campaign of sanitation aimed at ridding the country of these tons of detritus that litter its major cities.
The organizers asked residents not to add refuse on to the embankments as to not further complicate the work of the operators.
